The city of Assisi was chosen for the festival because it offers a cloistered environment that allows participants to be musically and aesthetically focused and free of distractions. Assisi also offers many excellent concert sites including the Basilica of Saint Francis, Sala San Antonio, Santa Maria Maggiore and several acoustically good outdoor settings.
